Welcome to the Burbank Early Childhood School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Dear Families,

On behalf of the BECS PTO, we would like to welcome everyone back to school. You ask what is PTO? PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support staff and students and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.

What is the PTO and who can be a Member?
The PTO is made up of several officers:

  • Andrea Porter (President),
  • Marcy Eckhart (Vice President),
  • Beth Renner (Secretary),
  • Grace Malone (Treasurer),
  • Sara Tillman (Treasurer Elect) and
  • Lindsey Wiles & Amy Tomasco (BECS Teacher Representatives) and Magalie Osswald (ESC Teacher Representative).

The PTO is also made of dedicated parents who participate though attending monthly meetings, volunteering for events and supporting the PTO Board. If you are a parent, guardian, or a person who teaches at Burbank, we would love for you to join us!

PTO Programs & Fundraising
Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and
services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and to benefit the school. To
meet this important objective, we fundraise throughout the year. Here are a few programs that we
sponsor and/or support: Fall Portraits, Back to School Family Night, Teacher Appreciation, Election
Day Bake Sale, Burbank Bash, and various other fundraisers throughout the year.

PTO Donation
Each year we ask families to consider a one time monetary donation to the PTO. This is one of the primary ways in which we fundraise and last year raised over $4000. As a reminder, 100% of your donation to the PTO is tax deductible. This money will be used to help fund buses for field trips, special guest visitors (eg authors, COSI, Columbus Zoo), new playground equipment, etc.

Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30pm at BECS.
Childcare for BECS enrolled students will be provided. All parents and guardians are welcome and
encouraged to attend!
